X-linked adrenoleucodystrophy: A case report

A 9 year old boy presented with gradual deterioration of vision & memory for 2
years, gait disturbance for 20 months , inability to walk for 17 months , inability to
sit, speak & deterioration of reciprocal reaction for 1 year. Clinically the diagnosis
was quite confusing but MRI of brain showed white matter abnormality & elevated
serum very long chain fatty acid level confirmed the diagnosis. The patient was put
on symptomatic drugs but there was progressive deterioration of his condition.
